RE: On the road again... Must see/stay Rocky M N. P.

Jeff: The weather report is for up to 10" of snow at 10,000 feet which is well below Trail Ridge road so that will be closed. The snow is suppose to extend down to 8000 feet which would catch most parts of the RMNP. Granted it will not hang around long at the lower elevations but might be a mess for a day or two. Offroading in the higher elevations probably won't be a good idea until it dries up after the storm which is by the way suppose to move quickly. Many of the USFS campgrounds are closed this time of year. Those that are open will not have water so be prepared for that. Moraine Park Campground in the RMNP will be open. You might take a look on their WEB site to see what space available looks like. I don't expect it would be a problem this time of year. However be prepared for possible snow.

RE: Equa-L-izer Ajustment w/new TV

LEP100: You need to find a level area where you can level your trailer then measure the distance from the surface to the inside top of the trailer receiver. This will give you the distance to the top of your TV ball. I add about 5/8 of an inch to this figure and then move my ball to that location. You may have to adjust your Equal-i-zer using washers and further adjust your L brackets to transfer the tongue weight properly. I had problems transferring weight to the front of my 2500HD with the OEM hitch and have since replaced the hitch with a Putnam XDR. If you had no trouble towing with your previous TV using the OEM hitch then you will probably be satisfied with the 2500HD hitch.

RE: Help us decide best TT for full timing

If you would describe the type of engine you have in your 1 ton it might help limit the makes and weight of TT.

RE: closet rods

A bunge cord placed on top of the rod and held down at each end with hose clamps will keep the hangers from bouncing up and down.

RE: Oregon scenic byways (Cascades)

Last week we came from Winchester Bay to Roseburg intending to take 138 to Diamond and found it to be closed because of a large forest fire. Might want to check that out before making final plans.

RE: Southern Oregon Coast

We just returned from a trip to the Oregon Coast last week. Our stay on the coast was capped off by two days at Winchester Bay RV Resort. It was the highlight of our trip and I highly recommend it.WinchesterBay

RE: Best route from Florence, OR to Interstate 5

I just came across Hwy 38 from Reedsport this past week. It is a good road and very scenic. I had wanted to take Hwy 138 out of Roseburg to crater lake but it was closed due to a large forest fire so if you are going that way check first in Roseburg.

RE: Oregon Coast - Best State Parks with Full Hook-ups?

Colorado: We just returned from the Oregon Coast and did stay at Ft Steven's which was very nice. Lots of trees in most loops and many things to see while there. We did the coast to Winchester Bay and really enjoyed the sights. We didn't have reservations and tried to get to where we wanted to stay early in the day. I guess our favorite place was Florence and Winchester Bay which has a wonderful RV park named Winchester Bay RV Resort. It is a privately owned park and you really need reservations if you are going to stay for more than a couple of days. I would try to get a site facing the bay if possible although there is not a bad site. Here is their web address.Winchesterbay

RE: RV Stolen From Forest River - help please

If your account is factual and I have no reason to believe it is not, I have seen these kinds of accounts in Trailer Life magazine and also the replies from the manufacturer. In many cases the extra boost you get from a national magazine gets the job done.
Guess that show just how much good a warranty is.

RE: What to buy

If it were me I would be looking at RVDirect or RV Wholesale. You can buy a new one for price of those you listed.
Some of these dealers are living in the past. It is a buyers market out there and you hold the key.

Oregon coast

We will be traveling from Colorado to the Oregon coast next week. We would like to travel along the coast line from north to south. I am looking for ideas of where to start at the north end. I have looked at Fort Stevens. Is that a good start? We are traveling with a travel trailer and without reservations.

RE: Weather Devils Tower Wyoming

Forecasting what kind of weather one might have in Wyoming at that time of year would be to say the least challenging!! It's kinda like you won't know until afterwards!

RE: Jayco Owners - Need your advice

If you are looking for a new Jayco fiver check with RVDIRECT for the model you are interested in, have them send you a quote and then ask your questions. It's as simple as asking. You want to buy and I can assure you that they want to sell! You may have to special order what you want but that is no problem.

RE: Greasing the Equilizer and Ball

I use a Teflon grease and grease the points you have mentioned with the exception of the "L" brackets. I understand that greasing those points reduces the effectiveness of the hitch. I don't know or does anyone else as to what degree. I think the best rule is it makes noise, it's working correctly.

RE: Interior night lights

If you are near a Walmart go to the RV section and buy a package of 3 wireless led puck lights The name is ritelite wireless LED accent light.
They have an adhesive backing and can be placed most anywhere in your camper. They have 5 LED that will last up to 100,000 hours and each operates off of 3 AAA batteries. They cost less than $19.00 for all three. Candles are not a good idea from several aspects.
